In this process, the ball is pressed against the surface while the workpiece rotates, causing it to smooth out surface imperfections like roughness, tool marks, or minor surface flaws. It is commonly applied in precision manufacturing where a smooth, high-quality finish is essential for functionality or aesthetics. This tool does not remove material but rather deforms the surface by plastic deformation under pressure. The result is a high-quality, polished surface with reduced roughness. In addition, this process work-hardens the surface, improving its resistance to wear and corrosion. For use with BXA series tool posts usually mounted on lathes with a 10" - 15" swing. Will not work on 0XA, AXA or CXA Tool Posts.
